Election Predictions

The 2008 election is going to be one of the rare elections where an incumbent president or vice-president is not running for president. This means that both the Republicans and Democrats have no clear nominee in the 2008 elections.

So polls are going to be huge in this election for both the Republicans and Democrats. Both sides will be arguing the tough issues regarding their party. And positions from all parts of the political spectrum will be voiced by at least one of the candidates. This is going to make the moderate voices of both parties seem the most appealing. There would never be an extreme candidate nominated in an election such as this one. The most moderate Republican is Rudy Giuliani and it seems almost certain at this point he will get the nomination.

As far as the Democrats go, there is no true middle ground candidate. But if you had to select one you would say that John Edwards is the most moderate of all the Democrats because he is from the south, a largely "Red" area.

But in a hypothetical matchup between Edwards and Giuiliani, Rudy wins by a large margin. The two individuals are not even close. The only candidate that comes close to Rudy at this point is Hillary Clinton but her electability rating is low because a) she is a female and b) she is deemed too left winged and c) the majority of the independent types would be more likely to vote Giuliani. Therefore, our guess at this point for President is Rudy.
