Leftist Politics

Collective Bargaining for employees and labor is something that our nation sees as fair for those in our work forces. Still, often unions take down companies and cause huge economic loss that far exceeds the pay they receive or the demands that they make. Not long ago the UAW did strikes at both GM and Chrysler. Within a few weeks GM posted a 1.9 Billion Dollar loss and Chrysler laid off 12,000 employees.

Who loses when this happens? Pensioners, employees, suppliers, stockholders and the company's global reputation and the corporation's ability to succeed in turbulent times. Now we see that the Hollywood Writers are striking to make more money, but they are already the highest paid writers in all the World. Most Hollywood Writers are Democrats and left thinking individuals, and it appears they do not understand capitalism at all.

Any free market economist would look at the shenanigans of the Hollywood Writers and say, well they do not deserve the job and why not allow the free-market to dictate wages paid to writers. There are at least half a million writers who would love to have that job and be willing to pack their bags and move to LA in a "New York second" and how do I know this?

Well, because, I have talked to writers from around the country who are trying to break into Hollywood with their screenplays; many of which long to demonstrate their talents. The Hollywood Studios should fire all the Hollywood Writers, refuse to hire anyone from their Union and move on to new, innovative and better talent, which more reflects the values and strengths of this great nation and our society. Think on it. Sincerely, Lance.
