Mr. George Soros, who funded the Democrats during the last presidential election is now telling us that the war on terror is self-defeating and one of the reasons he gives for this in his op-ed piece in the New York Times is that he believes; Terrorism Is an Abstraction.
He further states that we should not take all the international terrorist groups and put them all together on your one name. He believes that there are different types of groups that use terrorism as their weapon to serve their political will. He believes that some of these people are involved in political movements and they are not international terrorists.
I am sorry but I find this to be a crock of smelly stuff because any group that kills innocent civilians and uses such fear tactics as terrorism to serve their political will is an international terrorist and it really does not matter what we decide to call them, as we combat these unacceptable behaviors.
Any political movement that uses terrorism and the killing of innocent people to promote itself to power should not be allowed to operate in the world. Differentiating international terrorist groups only causes us to rate them on a scale of one to 10. But even on a scale of one that is unacceptable.
Apparently George Soros believes that international terrorism is sometimes acceptable. There is no time that international terrorism and terrorist acts against innocent civilians is acceptable. In fact George Soros's comments are troubling because if he actually believes that international terrorism is acceptable and he's also trying to serve his political will then exactly where is he taking this.
George Soros is known to have called President Bush things worse than Hugo Chávez of the Communist Venezuela. George Soros is already known to have that old in US politics and the election process. George Soros was unable to sway the elections last time around and was sent packing. If he comes back next time to try to sway the American elections will he be packing something else?
I fear George Soros's comments are indeed supporting of international terrorism. I find them to be unacceptable and actually unprintable. I am surprised the New York Times has fallen so low that they will allow someone even in the op-ed section to support international terrorism. Please consider this in 2006.
